At the age of 18 Mark was diagnosed with Stage 3 testicular cancer which spread to his lungs and kidneys. After an arduous journey and many months of chemotherapy he can proudly say he won the fight and is a survivor.

Using his public platform, Mark is a proud ambassador of CANSA and often is their celebrity spokesperson for national campaigns.

REACH FOR A DREAM FOUNDATION

Ever since first being on radio back in 1994, Mark has been a friend of the Reach for a Dream Foundation, helping create awareness of the organisation, help raise funds for them, and ultimately put a smile on the faces of brave young children who are facing life threatening illnesses.

HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION OF SOUTH AFRICA

After having a sudden and severe heart attack himself in 2008, Mark teamed up with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and is one of their celebrity endorsees.

The organisation embarks on national campaigns to increase the awareness of heart disease and also preventative steps that can be taken to reduce the possibility of becoming a statistic.
